My purchase for a camera before going to china has been put on hold for quite some time. Now, it's back!
Still contemplating if I should get a DSLR cause of it's bulkiness as I will be traveling quite abit. And of course the price consideration, Full HD recording functions yada yada
Apparently Pentax K-7, equivalent to the D300s and 7D at the price of a mid-ranged D90 is on special CNY sale at $1338 (body only) and the dual WR lens kit (18-55mm WR + 50-200mm WR) at $438!
Totally mesmerised by Canon's S90. f/2.0 lens, sadly no HD and no OVF but Canon's Powershot SX1 has full res HD, OVF, swivel LCD , but has poor batt life...
Ricoh's GXR with A12 is revoluntionarising~ Typically, only the lens is changed while the rest of the shooter's specifications remain untouched. But with the GXR, it's a different ball game altogether. The compact's body facilitates operation such as adjusting the menu parameters and shooting mode. However, the imaging sensor is not in the snapper's body. Instead, the sensor and lens make up one module which slots into the GXR. This opens up quite a lot of expansion possibilities for this system which we will elaborate upon later.
but but but...from canonrumor.com,
G Series? The G12 will be announced next summer and will probably be about the same with the addition of HD video. Could we see a CMOS sensor added to the camera? It’s possible. There’s always a few “G”Mos rumors floating around.
I don’t expect any large sensor G series camera.
S Series The S90 is doing quite well for Canon and will have an incremental update next summer. HD Video most likely. I don’t see a 2nd “S” series camera added to the lineup.
