i'm into high blogging frequency due the fact that i'm lazy to pick up the pen to jot things down on paperwhich i will lose them (somehow)
and the US election things really made me ponder on Spore's political climate and of course the application of it to KOG.
(disclaimer: purely my own thoughts, not targeting at any one/being/organisation)
Obama's strategy plays alot on seeking CHANGE, individual power to decide.
"It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generation's apathy who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep."
are singapore's youth apathetic towards local political scene? (sorry, this sounds so GP-ish)
it's not an answer of yes or no.
but a choice to being involved and not a sense of ignorance that we carry.
personally, i dont read up alot on the political scene in Spore.
i dont know much of the history of it (limited to textbook knowledge)
but i am concern about the policies that the govt introduced to improve the lives of singaporeans.
i am concern about who take what constitution in GE.
i attended rallies but issues raised doesnt seem to concern me at that point in time.
things are less 'exciting' in spore other than the SDP/Dr Chee/WP sagas.
and the presumption that 'PAP always win'
seeking for the equal level of excitement and maybe patriotism like that of US is hard.
(can you believe that i tuned in to CNN the entire morning and afternoon.hahah)
i am generally happy with PAP for the good they have done.
and i probably wont expect the turn of tables, the rise of opposition, the making of 'history'.
the normative of things keep our land peaceful.
i guess the bottom line is maybe singapore doesnt need alot of change,
just minor fine tuning here and there.
i lived to miss the 1960 era where i would expect a more exciting political scene.
my equation to singapore's political scene: more peaceful= less excitement= less involvement.
but definitely not more ignorant.
pragmatism as a factor of political decisions.
i know my parents consider the value of property in my estate a factor for GE.
especially since we live in the opposition party's ground.
and yes they want upgrades and see who has more decision making power to up the valuation of property and maybe that's who they're going to vote for.
so much for loyalty.HA.
the use of new media, the targeting of youths who can vote.
i'm sure singapore political parties are learning from strategies used in the US PE.
but will new media be a major instrument of influence in the next 2010 GE?
or will main stream papers/tv be the major source of influence still?
And what/ how will 2010 GE concern me other than the fact that i can vote?

sounds like fulfilling of prophesies.

nonetheless, obama has lots to do.
Economy the major concern of votes at 63%.
Iraq war/ terrorism.
Mortgage crisis.
Tax rebate.
Healthcare.
poor guy. got to clear up all the mess.
KOG.
win the youth of today
win the world of tomorrow.
evident in US PE.
was watching a report on CNN, youths dont feel skin colour as a major factor of their choice.
but what can the elected do for them.
to them the 'historic' win has little to do with the racial segregation.
change in mindset. more informed choice.
same for KOG.
change in attitude, growing in god.
More godly decisions, more blessings.
the world towards the new president.
has been positive.
lots of positive expectations.
how just a man rising up in a super power nation can affect so many others.
the high level of influence.
global leader, global change.
god's like the universe-and-beyond leader
we can expect change that is out of this world from him.
if only we choose Him just as millions chose Obama.
